Current projects include the Carpe Diem-Revels Monthly Community Sing in Silver Spring (21st of every month, to include Equinoxes & Solstices), Carpe Diem Community Dance (Second Thursdays in the Great Hall of the Silver Spring Civic Building -- in partnership with the Folklore Society of Greater Washington and the Department of Recreation’s BE ACTIVE MONTGOMERY initiative), the Carpe Diem UNITY PROJECT in collaboration with the Free Minds Book Club andProject Youth ArtReach c/o Class Acts Arts (co-sponsoring of bi-monthly FMBC Write Nights in Takoma/Silver Spring area) ~ and Carpe Diem Presents, a series of public performances.
|CARPE DIEM ARTS-on-the-Shore is housed under the umbrella of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation. Tax-deductible donations can be made at www.mscf.org by earmarking support for the Carpe Diem Arts Outreach Fund for Talbot County. We are seeking funds to help underwrite the cost of bringing arts programs to schools, special needs facilities, senior centers, and correctional facilities on the Eastern Shore. Other activities include the facilitation of arts enrichment activities and residencies in-school and after-school, the launching of the “Jump Start with the Arts” initiative focused on arts integration in early childhood education, the hosting of summer arts camps and retreats, and other community arts outreach projects, as well as numerous public performance series.|
