MORNING ACTIVITY
URadio • with Denise Jones
URadio is about capturing and creating stories that matter --- to You! In this STEAM program, you will be guided in learning how to create stories for radio or podcast. Over the week, students will build skills in audio journalism, arts and media by telling a story with ambient sound, doing a vox pop interview, and creating a commentary piece with an infographic, while learning audio editing basics with Audacity. URadio is your ideas and training to help you tell your stories! This week’s project will focus on themes of education as an important factor in individual and community outcomes. URadio will culminate in a special airing of campers stories on Takoma Radio LPFM 89.3!
Note: A smartphone and charging cord is required to capture audio files.
Students will need a ukulele for the week. Bring your own or borrow a loaner from us.
